Records, combined sound and kinematoyraph.-A method of printing a positive film bearing sound and picture records from a negative film is characterized in that the picture records on the negative film are printed of a different size and/or displaced laterally on the positive film so as to leave a margin for the sound record. The positive pictures 10 may be printed by optical projection in reduced size and displaced to one side of the film so as to leave between the pictures and one rank of feed perforations an unexposed margin 11 for the reception of the sound record. The sound record may be printed by contact or by optical projection with change of dimensions if desired; and it may be printed simultaneously with the picture record, or by a separate printing operation. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also states that (1) the two records may be printed simultaneously from a composite negative bearing both, the desired reduction in size of one or both records and displacement thereof being effected by optical means, comprising prisms, lenses, &c. and (2) either record may be changed in size or displaced automatically during printing. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
