Records, combined phonographic and kinematographic.-A combined sound and picture record is printed as a positive film from a negative film carrying both the sound record and the pictures by running the negative through a printing machine in conjunction with the positive blank, exposing the positive to the picture portion only ot the negative at this stage, and then running both films through a second time, this time exposing the positive only to the sound record portion of the negative. By adjusting the relative position of the positive and negative films prior to the second printing operation, any desired longitudinal separation between associated parts of the sound and picture records may thus be obtained on the positive film. Instead of printing the pictures first, and then the sound record, this sequence may be reversed. Specifications 235,178 and 235,179 are referred to.
