401,609. Sanitary bins. GILBERT, A., 101, Goswell Road, London. May 31, 1933, No. 15710. [Class 26.] A housing for a sanitary bin is provided with a door or lid to admit, and a shoot to direct, refuse into the bin, which is disposed upon a movable support whereby the bin can be withdrawn from the housing. In the form shown, the housing comprises a four-sided cabinet 1 with or without a floor portion and having an inclined lid 7 ; the support 9 which may be of skeleton construction, is fitted with castors or runners 10 and an upstanding flange 17 and is integral with a side 8 or part thereof. The support may be capable of being wheeled to a collecting-vessel or may be arranged so as to be sufficiently movable to permit removal of the bin, and is guided by projections 12, 13 and guides 14. The cabinet is further provided with a shoot 18, a lid-stay 20, a catch 11 and, if desired, a deodorizing device. The shoot may be provided with a shutter which is operated either manually or automatically by the movement of the bin-support, or which is so associated with the lid that it is closed when the lid is opened and vice versa. The cabinet may be incorporated in a house during the building thereof, so that the cabinet may be within the house and the support and bin withdrawable from the outside. Further, the cabinet may be outside the house and the shoot may lead thereto from inside.
