401,605. Framework and general arrangement of looms. TEFAG TEXTIL FINANZ AKT.-GES., Zurich, Switzerland.- (Assignees of Wuttig, E. ; 41, Schulstrasse, Chemnitz, Germany). May 23, 1933, No. 14849. Convention date, June 2, 1932. [Classes 142 (i), 142 (ii), and 142 (iii).] The lateral frame members of a loom are connected by a longitudinal frame element which carries a driving shaft and such mechanisms as are directly associated with the shedding, beating-up and shuttle movements. In the construction shown, side frames 1a, 1b are connected by a longitudinal element comprising rods 2a, 2b, formed as a single unit with a V- shaped oil bath 3, and carrying a driving shaft 14, a series of mechanism sets 17 and a casing 18 enclosing the picking mechanism. Each mechanism set 17 includes a sword 16 for operating the lay 9, rods 8a ... 8d for controlling the healds and a shaft length which can be coupled to the existing driving shaft. In a modification a grooved cam is provided on the main driving shaft for operating the picker of an over pick loom.
