Abstract

401,029. Composite paving blocks. DUFFY, J., River Road, Barking, Essex. June 1, 1932, No. 15561. [Class 87 (i).] Paving-blocks, particularlv suitable for roadsurface markings, comprise a metal plate 1 formed with a recess 4 engaged by a corresponding projection 5 on a wood block 2, the two members being drawn into close engagement by a rod 6 screwed into an internally threaded boss 7 on the plate 1 and passing through a bore 9 in the block 2, the other end being threaded to receive a nut 8 located in a recess in the lower part of the block. In addition, grooves or other recesses in the top of the block 2 may be engaged by ribs on the plate 1, which may also have a rubber covering vulcanized thereto and additionally secured if desired by interengaging projections and recesses.
