400,553. Printing-machines. SCHWEIZ. INDUSTRIE-GES., Neuhausen, Schaffhausen, Switzerland. June 1, 1933, No. 15867. Convention date, June 9, 1932. [Class 100 (ii).] Inking-apparatus.-In an inking-apparatus for a platen press in which the inking rollers revolve round the forme bed 5, the inking rollers are mounted in a pair of gear wheels 4, 24 eccentrically mounted on the hubs 12 of the bed 5 and engaging gear wheels 3, 22 eccentrically mounted on the main driving shaft 2. The wheels 3, 4 and 22, 24 are connected together by links 11, 23 engaging bosses 3b, 4b, 22b, 24b on the gear wheels. The hubs 12 are mounted in blocks 14, 14a slidably mounted in guide slots 26, 26a in the main frame 1. As the shaft 2 rotates the bed 5 is reciprocated to and from the impression bed and the inking rollers are revolved round the bed 5. The inking rollers comprise a pair of forme-inking rollers 9 engaging inclined slots 17, 18, Fig. 4, in the gear wheels, and a distributing roller 10 mounted in members 19 engaging the spindles of the rollers 9 and drawn inwardly by springs 20. By this arrangement, the rollers 9 are pressed apart out of contact with the roller 10 during their passage over the forme 7.
