Abstract

Moulded articles, particularly for electrical insulating purposes, comprise a foundation of artificial resin and filling material and a surface layer consisting wholly or partially of an artificial resin moulding composition containing amine aldehyde resin, the surface being formed during the moulding process. The articles may be made by subjecting the usual phenol aldehyde condensation product and filling materials to a short pressing operation lasting about one minute then opening the mould, scattering therein aniline resin and sawdust or asbestos, and then re-pressing for a further two minutes. The moulded parts may be surrounded on all sides or at selected parts with the amine resin. The different moulding compositions may be placed one over another and united in the pressing mould &c.
