Abstract
A composition suitable as a wetting-agent comprises a product prepared according to Specification 274,611 or Specification 311,885, [both in Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], commercial pine oil, terpineol or like terpene alcohol, and water in the proportion, by weight, of x : y : z in which x + y + z = 100 and x and y are between 40 and 55 and z between 9 and 18. In a preferred form, 47 parts of a product prepared according to example 2 of Specification 311,885, [Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], are mixed with 52 parts of commercial pine oil, and after being heated, the mixture is cooled and treated with 15 parts of water. The composition is stable in hard water, aqueous acids and alkalies. Specification 368,351 also is referred to.
