Abstract

398,930. Vacuum cleaners. HAMBRIDGE, J. J., 2, Holmside Road, Nightingale Lane, and BRITISH VACUUM CLEANER & ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., Parson's Green Lane, Fulham, both in London. April 7, 1932, No. 10008. [Class 8 (i).] A vacuum cleaner comprises a cylindrical casing 1 enclosing a suction fan, motor and dust bag coaxially arranged. A handle 12 is connected to a bracket 8 surrounding the casing and also supporting floor wheels 10. The handle 12 is disposed about the centre of gravity of the machine. The suction nozzle 11 is pivoted to a member 15 adapted to engage the tube 2a directly or through the medium of a rigid extension 14. The casing 1 is also provided with sleds 17. The cover 4 is provided with an outlet 5 for use as a blower and also a switch 6.
