Abstract

398,782. Fastenings. TYER & CO., Ltd., Ashwin Street, Dalston, and BALLARD T. W., 275, Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, both in London. May 24, 1933, No. 15026. [Class 44.] In a fastening of the kind comprising a pivoted pressure finger 10 engaging the member 17 to be held, the sleeve 2 in which the pivot 11 is mounted is fixed in a structural member 1 of wood &c. by means of rigid members 16 loosely mounted in arcuate slots 13 in the pivot, and adapted to be forced through slots 9 in the sleeve into the wood 1 when the pivot is turned on its axis. The pivot is pressed inwards by a spring 7 and washer 8 engaging a pin 15 in an extension 14 of the pivot. The finger 10 may have a stud 18 adapted to engage a recess in the member 17 when a key 12 on the arm registers with a slot 4 in the flange 3 of the sleeve 2.
