Abstract
398,047. Purifying gases. GEWERKSCHAFT M. STINNES, 111, Viehoferstrasse, Essen, Germany. Oct. 24, 1932, No. 29745. Convention date, Oct. 23, 1931. [Class 55 (ii).] In the dry purification of coal gases using a system of at least three boxes, the gases after leaving the first box are treated in the succeeding boxes at an elevated temperature of at least 10‹ C. In an example, the gases are maintained at temperatures of 15-25‹ C. and 40-50‹ C. in the first box and succeeding boxes respectively. Air or steam may be added intermittently or continuously to the gases under treatment and increased pressure used in the boxes. Specification 18597/12, [Class 55 (ii), Gas manufacture &c.], is referred to.
