Abstract
397,131. Sliding-clasp fasteners. CORNER, G. H. C., 507, Walsall Road, Perry Barr, and LIGHTNING FASTENERS, Ltd., Witton, both in Birmingham. Feb. 15, 1932, No. 4503. [Class 44.] The stringers for a sliding-clasp fastener comprise alternate fastener members 1 and spacer members 2 strung on a flexible cord or wire 3 and so shaped in relation to each other that correct radial alignment is maintained on flexing the stringer ; the spacer members 2 are sewn directly to the article or to a tape for attachment to the article, the thread engaging grooves on the spacer members. The fastener and spacer members are maintained in radial alignment by inter-engaging projections and recesses, for instance of oval or square crosssection, or by the wire being of square section engaging square apertures in the fastener and spacer members. The fastener members may be made of artificial resin and with the spacer formed integrally therewith. Specification 304,215, [Class 44, Fastenings, Lock &c.], is referred to.
