Abstract
395,827. Speedometers. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London, and GRIFFITHS, L., 78, Biggin Hall Crescent, Coventry. April 18,1932, No. 11082. [Class 106 (iii).] A mounting and driving arrangement for a speedometer generator such as the generator described in Specification 395,404, [Group XXXV], comprises an end plate on the generator casing with a prolongation insertable into the bore hole of the driving gear casing and serving as a bearing for the gear wheel which is connected to the generator spindle. The prolongation may be screwed directly to the gear casing but in the form shown the end plate has a prolongation 11 which is secured to the screwed aperture 12 of the gear casing 2 by means of a screw-threaded collar 5 rotatable on the prolongation and held thereon by a collar 6. The collar 5 is retained in position by a grub-screw 7. The prolongation forms a bearing for the usual gear wheel 3 the extension 13 of which is slotted to receive a projection 14 on the spindle 4 of the generator 8. By utilizing a collar such as 5, turning of the generator casing to secure it in position when directly applied to the aperture 12 is avoided.
