Abstract

395,383. Converting. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, ET CIE, Baden, Switzerland. Oct. 6, 1931, No. 27724 (Convention date, Oct. 8, 1930. [Class 38 ii).] A method of controlling a rectifier in which two or more grids c, dare disposed one above the other within an anode arm or sleeve and in the immediate vicinity of the discharge surface of the anode, comprises applying a control potential solely to that grid lying nearest the anode in dependence upon the desired working conditions of the rectifier. The control potential may be used to prevent back-ignition or for producing continuous or alternating-current. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 383,961.
