Abstract

395,374. Tubes for heat-exchangers ; heating air. KLEINEWEFERS, P., 210, Nordstrasse, Krefeld, Germany. Dec. 12, 1931, No. 31315. Addition to 394,324. [Classes 64 (i) and 64 (iii).] Apparatus, e.g. for heating air by flue gas, comprises an assembly of metal tubes 15 provided with external projections 16 designed as described in the parent Specification and shorter internal projections 17. The air passes through the tubes which are secured to one another by the flanged ends 26 and enclosed in a casing through which the flue gas flows. The projections may be of drop-shaped cross section in the direction of flow of the fluids. In a modification, the tubes 'are formed of rings 20, Fig. 5, spaced apart, if desired, by asbestos washers.
