Abstract
394,161. Thermionic cathodes. TELEFUNKEN GES. FR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. Aug. 15, 1932, No. 22867. Convention date, Aug. 13, 1931. [Class 39 (i).] The cathode of a thermionic valve consists of an N- or W-shaped filament heated by alternating-current and having separate portions so connected that maximum potential difference occurs at those points on the portions where they are nearest to each other and the voltage drop along the cathode from end to end is discontinuous. A W-shaped filament may be arranged as shown in the Figure with its outer ends 0 connected together and forming the middle of the electrode system.
