393,537. Floors ; blocks. HOYER, E., 3, Feldweg, Leonberg, near Stuttgart, Germany. Jan. 25, 1933, No. 2438. Convention date, Jan. 29, 1932. [Classes 20 (iv) and 87 (i).] A floor comprises blocks b arranged between joists a and supported by transverse bearers c of wood, metal, reinforced concrete &c. carried by the joists a, which are enclosed by concrete casings e adapted to provide additional support for the blocks b by reason of the shape of the contacting faces of the casings e and blocks b. No concrete covering is provided over the blocks b which have a definite load-bearing function in the floor. The ends of the blocks have inwardly and downwardly inclined faces b<1> as shown in Fig. 1, to produce a wedge effect with the concrete casings e, when the latter are cast in position. Alternatively, the end faces may be recessed for interlocking with the casings, and such recesses may extend completely through the blocks and parallel to the bearers d to form passages f as shown in Fig. 4. The blocks, which may be either solid or hollow, have recesses d in the side faces for the reception of the bearers c, and the upper side edges of the blocks may be provided with recesses g to receive concrete e as shown in Fig. 2. The bearers c may be of T-shape in cross-section and the recesses g may then extend down to the level of the bearers as shown in Fig. 3.
