[Classes 20 (iv) and 87 (i).] A floor or roof construction comprises main girders 3, secondary girders 4 in the form of angle-irons arranged in pairs and supported by the main girders 3, and concrete or other slabs 1, which are each provided with a continuous peripheral recess 2 around its upper edge and have members 5 extending through the slab and projecting from two opposite ends for the purpose of supporting the slab on the secondary members 4. The main and secondary members are housed in the co-operating recessed portions of adjacent slabs, and these recessed portions are adapted to be filled with concrete. The slabs may be hollow or be built up of several layers.
