Abstract
393,502. Hand-stamps; inking-pads. TIETZE, (nee FRIEDRICH), E., 15, Hauptstrasse, M÷lkau, Leipsic, Germany.) Nov. 28, 1932, No. 33694. Convention date, May 3. [Class 100 (ii).] A hand-stamp for dating &c., of the kind comprising endless type-bands passing over independently-operable pulleys, is provided with a frame in the form of a casing completely enclosing the pulleys and bands except for an opening for the printing-bar, and made in two halves symmetrical about the plane through the axis of the pulleys and the printing- bar, and having slots for the band-adjusting discs. The casing, Figs. 1 and 3, is pressed or cast in two halves from sheet-iron, papier mÔchÚ, celluloid, the material sold under Registered Trade Mark " Bakelite," or the like. The handle 8 is also in two halves integral with the halves of the casing and may be hollow and serves as a container, or may be made separate from the casing. The halves are united by a printing-bar 4 which fits into slots 15 in the halves, and by a pin 25 which passes through holes 18 in hinge-like portions 10. Each part is provided with a half socket 6 for the spindle 1, on which are mounted the dish-shaped pulleys 2 for the rubber bands 3. The pulleys 2 are drawn from sheet-iron with an inwardly-turned bearing-surface about the spindle and a cylindrical outer surface 16 which is ribbed to give a better grip on the bands. The broader pulleys are provided with a second bearing- surface in an end-cover 17 inserted in the pulley. Slots 13 are provided in the casing for adjusting discs 14 fast to the pulleys. An inking-device comprises a pad 24 in a base 19 and a spring-pressed sliding frame 23. The frame 23 receives the end of the stamp when not in use, and must be depressed together with the stamp to allow contact between the stamp and the inking-pad.
