Abstract
392,743. Spray carburetters. KNOTT, E. W., 54, Ravenscroft Avenue, Golders Green, London, and WYNNE, C. H., 231, Bristol Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham. May 30, 1932, No. 15263. [Class 7 (iii).] The body b of the mixture chamber has an integral lateral extension d forming a cover for the float chamber a which is held against a faced surface on the underside of the extension by a bolt c which forms a slow-running device and is screwed into the float chamber. The bolt is bored axially and has a constricted orifice j supplied with fuel either through the bore g, or through a duct p from a space between tubes q, r. The axial bore communicates with the atmosphere through a transverse bore k and, through another transverse bore l, with the slow-running passages. A gasket v may be provided between the extension d and float chamber or, in a modification described in connection with a horizontal mixing chamber, the upper edge of the float chamber wall is recessed to receive a spigot on the extension d. The fuel inlet s and valve t are in the extension.
