392,500. Kinematograph apparatus. RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA, 570, Lexington Avenue, New York, U.S.A. Oct. 17, 1932, No. 5868/33. Convention date, Nov. 3, 1931. Divided on 394,202. [Class 97 (i).] Gates, in apparatus for films having perforations in one margin only, are provided with tensioning means operative only on that margin ; guiding means operative on the other margin without producing tension may be provided. As shown, a shoe 70 operative on the perforated margin is provided with ears 71 carrying springs 75 engaging plates 73 to press the shoe on to the film. The ears 71 may each have a notch to engage the edge of the plate 73 so as to hold the shoe when it is pulled away from the film to permit threading. A guide 74 extends along the other film margin and is fixed so as to permit the film to move freely but without fluttering.
