Records, combined phonographie and kinematographic, printing.-Relates to apparatus for printing a picture film and a sound film on a blank film, and consists mainly in the provision of means for shifting the blank film edgewise between the two printings. As shown, the blank film P comes from a reel 28 and through a cleaner 38 to a roller 40, where it meets with a negative picture film N coming-from a reel 29. These films then pass separately over two sets of rollers 43, 39, and again meet at an aperture of the printing device 46, after which they pass to a roller 47. From this, the negative film N goes to a reel 35, while the positive film P is taken up and displaced edgewise, i.e., laterally, before being passed down again over a number of rollers at the side of the first ones and mostly on the same spindles. Under a printing gate 41, it meets a negative sound film S coming from a reel 30. The sound trace is printed there by the apparatus described in Specification 326,009. The films P, S then pass over a number of rollers, and finally separate out, one going to a reel 36 and the other to a. reel 37.
