[Class 34 (ii).] In apparatus for drying thin papers, such as photographic papers and other papers apt to crumple easily, of the type in which the papers are conveyed by endless bands round an internally-heated drum, two superposed bands are used, the outer of which at least is permeable to moisture, and are guided from the point at which the paper is inserted to the point where it passes on to the drum, in a plane tangential to the drum so that the paper is pressed flat between the bands before reaching the drum. In the form shown the bands 2, 3 pass over guiding rollers which produce a straight path from the point of insertion 4 to the drum 1.
