390,658. Boiler smoke-box fittings. SHEARER, J., 20, St. Georges Park, Wallasey, Cheshire. May 5, 1932, No. 12940. [Class 51 (i).] The smoke-box f of a steam boiler is provided with a deflecting plate k spaced from the front g of the smoke-box and extending upwardly and. outwardly from the lower to the upper part thereof at an inclination to the tube plate. The plate k is supported on V-shape brackets l<1> and may be adjusted by a rod m engaging with a lug k<2>. The plate may be flanged and provided with ribs or corrugations and may be provided with refractory or protective covering on one or each of its faces.
