Abstract

390,635. Frictional pocket-igniters. DRAEGER, F., 2, Jõgerstrasse, Elgersburg, Thuringia, Germany. March 29, 1932, No. 8986. [Class 75 (iii).] In an igniter in which the wick-cap a is mounted on the pivot pin i of the friction wheel d and is adapted to operate the wheel during an opening movement, the downturned end of a link b is pivoted to the wick-cap at a point h in front of but below the pivot i while the other end is pivoted at j to a spring-pressed operating lever c, the arrangement being such that the line joining the pivots h, j coincides with or is located slightly below the pivot i in the closed position so that the wick-cap can be opened with a rapid or snap action. The wheel d is provided on a side face with ratchet teeth co-operating with a spring pawl e movable with the wick-cap.
