Abstract

390,625. Cylinders. SIMMONDS, C. F., and SHEEPBRIDGE STOKES CENTRIFUGAL CASTINGS CO., Ltd., Chesterfield, Derbyshire. March 11, 1932, No. 7351. [Class 7 (ii).] A dry liner which is provided with an interference fit is formed with a portion of its peripheral surface at the base end 2 of slightly less diameter than the remainder of the surface 1. The cylinder bore is correspondingly shouldered to lock with the liner. In the construction shown, a liner 1 of cast iron, alloy cast iron, or steel, of 4 inch bore has an upper external diameter of 4<3>/16 inches + -002 inch and a lower portion of 4<3>/16 inches - À008 inch. The corresponding diameters of the cylinder bore are .002 inch less.
