387,619. Preserving fruit &c.. ILLICHMANN, R., 305, Mõhrisch-Rothwasser, Moravia. Sept. 8, 1932, No. 25064. Convention date, Sept. 11, 1931. [Class 49.] In exhausting a container a for food, e.g. fruit, or other materials, a lid b is placed thereon with a packing ring d, which is left partly exposed, therebetween. A cover c is then placed over the lid b with its rim resting on the exposed portion of the ring d and the air is exhausted by a pump. Air is finally allowed to enter under the cover c by pulling away a rubber disc f to expose a hole e therein, and the cover is removed.
