Abstract
386,689. Paper-fasteners. SIMMONDS, W. J., 32, Pelham Road, Wimbledon, London. July 18, 1931, No. 32571/32. Divided on 385,650, [Group XV]. [Class 44.] Binding-devices for papers and documents comprise two or more plate members u, s flexibly hinged together, the members u, being perforated to fit over prongs or the like m on which the papers are placed and having means such as projections w to prevent movement thereof over the surface of the papers, and the member s being adapted to fold towards the members u so that the downturned ends of the prongs are held between the members u, s. Separate members u may be replaced by a continuous strip perforated at the required positions. The junctions v between the members u, s are weakened by grooving or otherwise to enable the members to be folded together. The plates may be secured together by hook projections thereon, or, if material other than metal is used, a press-button fastening may be employed. A binding-device u, s may be used on both faces of the stack of papers.
