Abstract

385,358. Switches. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London, and FRANKLIN, S. H., 1A, Grassmere Avenue, Coventry. Sept. 7, 1931, No. 25084. [Class 38 (v).] A rotary switch as used for controlling a plurality of circuits, for example, the lighting and ignition circuits of a motor cycle or other vehicle, comprises a rotatable member 1 carrying contacts 2 which co-operate with fixed contacts 14 insulated from one another and connected to studs 5 mounted on an insulating terminal board 6. The contacts 14 are separated by insulating spacers 3, the whole forming a stack mounted on the moulded base 4 by a bolt 12 having an insulating sleeve thereon. The bolt 12 also secures the bracket 11 in which one end of the rotatable member 1 is mounted. A resistance 9 and warning lamp 13 may be mounted on the base 4.
