Abstract
462,938. Mechanical switches without quick action. SJOQUIST, C. A., and THORNTON, H. T. May 4, 1936, No. 12596. [Class 38 (v)] [Also in Group XI] A switch for effecting the lighting of one or more of the incandescent electric lamps 21, 22, 23 surrounds the lamp standard 10 and comprises a rotatable insulating member 45 between fixed insulating discs 24, 36. An arcuate contact 48 and an annular contact 49 are countersunk in the upper and lower faces of the member 45 respectively and are connected by bolts 50, 51. The contact 49 is engaged by a spring- pressed contact 43 in the disc 36 and the contact 48 is adapted to engage one or more of the spring-pressed contacts 31, 32, 33 in the disc 24. One wire 53 of the conductor cord 52 is connected to the contact 43 and the other wire 59 with one terminal of the lamps, the other terminals of which are connected with the contacts 31, 32, 33 respectively.
