Abstract
384,699. Hand-stamps. BEZZANT, C., 52, Panton Road, Chester. Aug. 1, 1931, No. 22016. [Class 100 (ii).] Holders for loose types.-In a hand-stamp of the kind comprising a box-shaped receptacle containing types held by means of thumbscrews or other suitable devices bearing against spacing-plates, one wall of the receptacle has an internal recess transverse to the lines of type, and a slot is provided leading from the recess to the open end of the box whereby spacing-plates provided with lugs can be inserted down the slot and then moved along the recess and retained therein. As shown, each one of a number of plates 7 is provided with a rib 10 engaging grooves in types 12 set up in rows in a box 2 fixed to a handle 15, and the assemblage, including packing-plates 13, is clamped in position by screws 14. Each of the plates 7 and 13 has a lug at each end engaging horizontal slots 3, 4 respectively, formed in the sides of the box, vertical slots 5, 6 being provided to permit the plates to be inserted. The box 2 may be pressed up from plastic material, and the screws 14 may be replaced by springs.
