Abstract

384,551. Doors for passenger vehicles. NATIONAL PNEUMATIC CO., 420, Lexing- ton Avenue, New York, U.S.A. May 11, 1932, No. 13612. Convention date, Nov. 12, 1931. [Class 103 (ii).] A member 10 mounted on the forward edge 25 of a door of a vehicle or the like so as to be vertically movable carries at its upper end a resilient member, such as a pin 15 controlled by springs 16, 17, movably mounted on the member 10 for engaging a control device, such as a switch control member 3 mounted above the door, in a limited portion only of the movement of the bar. The control 3 may be included in an alarm circuit in the brake control circuit or in a circuit for cutting off the driving power of the vehicle. A bracket 12 secured to the upper end of the member 10 carries the headed pin 15 under adjustable spring tension, and, if the door is obstructed near the end of its closing movement, the member 10 is moved upwards to engage an arm 5, which is pivoted to a bracket 4 on the door frame and supported more or less horizontally in a strap 6, with the control member 3.
