Abstract
384,228. Sand-coating bricks, tiles, &c. HODGKINSON, E., of New Rose Vale Brick & Tile Co., Chesterton, Staffordshire. July 6, 1932, No. 19065. [Class 87 (ii).] Bricks, tiles, &c. cut from a clay &c. bar as described in Specification 185,824, [Class 87 (ii), Moulding plastic &c. substances], are transferred past a cleaning brush h maintained wet by a water supply h<1>, on to an endless band conveyer a where they receive sand distributed by a grooved roller c<1> located at the lower end of a hopper c. The conveyer is supported by a table b and the sanded articles pass thereover under spring-pressed rollers d which press the sand into the brick &c. faces. The roller c<1> is driven from the conveyer pulley a<1>.
