383,888. Lacing-fastenings. GRUNDLEHNER, E., 11, Grand Street, Sidney, New York, U.S.A. May 6, 1932, No. 13124. Convention date, May 6, 1931. [Class 43.] A shoe - lace fastener, preferably for use with elastic shoe laces, comprises a fastening element 7 having openings 8 therein and a resilient sleeve 9 which may be split 'longitudinally. The sleeve may be arranged to project on one side of the fastening element as shown in Fig. 2, or it may be arranged in the plate as shown in Fig. 4. The edges of the fastening element may be bent into arcuate shape towards the sleeve, as shown in Fig. 4. In use, the free end of the lace is threaded through the sleeve 9 from the rear end of the sleeve, which is then moved along the lace and pressed into a shoe eyelet whereby the lace is clamped; the end of the lace is then threaded through the openings 8 as shown, thereby further securing the lace against slipping.
