402,594. Fastenings for shoes and like footwear. PEERS, D. H., and WALLACE, B., 216, Marsh Hill, Erdington, Birmingham. March 11, 1933, No. 33338/32. [Class 17 (ii).] An adjustable fastening strap g, Fig. 1, or a pair of eyeletted flaps g, Fig. 4, for securing a shoe on the foot is detachably connected at one or both ends to the shoe upper by lever clips f, Figs. 1, 2, 4, connected to the parts g and each straddling a hookshaped member e to which it is pivoted by trunnions e<2>. The member e carries projections el which engage the shoe upper when the upper is clamped between the member e and a cam-shaped projection f<1> on the clip f when such clip is turned upwards into the full line position shown in Fig. 2.
