Abstract

383,807. Valve circuits ; discharge apparatus. TELEFUNKEN GES. FœR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. Jan. 28, 1932, No. 2612. Convention date, Jan. 28, 1931. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v).] In a valve, generator or amplifier of the type having an auxiliary discharge serving as electron source means are provided for feeding back energy from the output circuit into the auxiliary discharge circuit.. The discharge occurs in a gas - filled valve 1 between electrodes 2, 3 which are energized by a D.C. source 7 through coil 9. For oscillation generation the anode oscillatory circuit 6 is coupled to the coil 9, being fed through blocking condenser 11 from the anode 5 which is supplied through choke 10 from the D.C. source 8. Phase correction means may be introduced to compensate for inertia effects in the gas discharge and modulation of the oscillations effected by modulating potentials applied to a grid 4, the main anode circuit, or to the discharge circuit. Currents from a separate source may be amplified by being applied to the auxiliary discharge path, the feed-back providing a reaction effect. The grid 4 may be used as a space charge or screen grid in known manner or may be omitted, and the valve may have fillings of rarefied hydrogen or other gas with very small ionic inertia. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an amplifier in which there is no provision for feed-back. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
