Abstract

383,319. Sliding - clasp fasteners. FREY, S., 11, Am Park, Schoneberg, Berlin. Aug. 10, 1931, No. 22583. Convention date, Aug. 12, 1930. [Class 44.] To minimize friction in a sliding-clasp fastener, each member 1 on one stringer has a projection on one face and is smooth on the other, and each member 2 on the other stringer has a recess in one face, and is smooth on the other face, so that each member interlocks with only one adjacent member. This construction allows a slider with more acute angle than usual to be employed. The internal wedge member p in the slider is formed by stamping external V-recesses in the upper and lower plates. The slider may have an ornament which hides its identitv as a slider when applied to a dress &c. The stringers are separable, a split pin 8, Fig. 5, or spring hook 16, Fig. 10, on a terminal member 11 on one stringer engaging a countersunk or shouldered aperture in a terminal member on the other stringer. These terminal members have extended rigid plates 6, 7 with finger depressions V to facilitate handling in separating and assembling the stringers. To aid in guiding the stringers to correct position a pointed member 5 on one stringer engages under a shoulder on a member 3 on the other stringer, member 3 having a projection r which supports the adjacent fastener member 1.
