Abstract

383,296. Fire alarms. BLOCH, R. M., 88, Duke's Avenue, Chiswick, London. Feb. 5, 1932, No. 15290/31. [Class 47 (i).] An automatic fire alarm comprises a pair of inclined contact plates 15 adapted to be bridged by a conducting weight 22 when a fusible rod 20 is melted by fire. The rod has a head engaged in a shouldered bore in the weight, and its upper end is a frictional fit, or is screw threaded, in a holder 19 which is removable from the casing 11 of the device. The plates 15 are connected by terminals 17 to the wires of a domestic bell circuit, and by terminals 16 to the ordinary pushbutton switches of the circuit.
