Abstract
382,156. Treating paper and pulp. GRœNERT, A., 20, Marktstrasse, Weimar, Germany. Feb. 8, 1932, No. 3713. Convention date, Feb. 10, 1931. [Class 96.] In blackening or colouring pictures on paper, the paper or a waterproof layer thereon of cellulose esters or ethers &c., e.g. of nitrocellulose, is moistened with a grease-repellant, e.g. dilute acid or glycerine, and contacted with a grease or oil paint, or with a pigment in a grease solvent, so that only the picture absorbs the paint &c. The paper, e.g. pergamyn, parchment, oil, or paraffin paper, may be grease-proof or slightly pervious to water, and may be satined or frictioned, and then ground with wire brushes. Oil or paraffin paper may be treated with alkalies, acids, or other mordants or solvents, or with steam or gas. When employing pergamyn paper boric acid &c. may be added to the paper pulp, or montan wax &c. applied to the paper web.
