Abstract

A composition for rendering fabrics water repellent contains cellulose nitrate, dibutyl phthalate, ceresin wax, paraffin oil, ethyl acetate, ethyl alcohol, and toluene, and a coating composition for rendering fabrics waterproof contains cellulose nitrate, a softener, and a pigment. The softener may be raw or blown castor oil, blown cottonseed oil, dibutyl phthalate, tricresyl phosphate, or benzyl-butyl-phthalate.
