382,036. Feeding sheets. POLLAK, J. E., 20, Holborn, London.-(Brehmer Geb.; Plagwitz, Leipsic, Germany.) Sept. 29, 1931, No. 27133. [Class 100 (i).] In a sheet-feeding apparatus for printing, folding, or other sheet-handling machines, of the kind in which a fanned out pile is fed from an upper feed board 11 by tapes or belts 18 around a reversing drum 14, and is advanced to sheet-separating means over a lower board 12 by means of tapes or belts 22, lateral deviation of the sheets is prevented by causing certain of the tapes 18 to move over the board 12 parallel to the tapes 22, the sheets thus being gripped between moving tapes 18, 22 to prevent the deviation. To adjust the apparatus for sheets of different sizes, the tapes 18, 22 are passed over pulleys 17 which are laterally adjustable, and the tapes 18 are acted on by pulleys 27, 34 carried in spring-tensioned arms 28, 33 which are mounted on a laterally adjustable rod 30. Tapes 39 coact with the drum 14 to effect reversal of the sheets.
