Abstract
381,717. Steam separators. HUNT, W. T., 32, Queen's Road, Cheadle Hulme, Manchester. Oct. 6, 1931, No. 27722. [Class 123 (iii).] Purifiers for removing oil &c. from steam supplied, e.g. to dyeing or brewery vats, or in sugar or other boiling processes, comprise a canister h spaced within a casing a having a steam inlet c and outlet e, and forming a collector and drain for water, oil, &c., and a baffling member n mounted within the canister and having slots or apertures with tabs or tongues projecting into it to oppose the steam flow, an inlet pipe r delivering the steam against the convex bottom p of the baffling member so as to divert it against the wall. The canister which has a drain pipe m is supported on lugs i at the bottom of the casing and between lugs j on the cover b. The baffling member has a flanged lip o which seats upon the canister top.
