Abstract
381,445. Foot-arch supports ; heel pads &c. MAYR, M., 2, Muhlenstrasse, Sch÷neberg, Berlin. Feb. 15, 1932, No. 4480. [Class 81 (ii).] Flat-foot inserts, stocking protectors, or heel pads are provided with fixed or detachable heel counters 2, Fig. 6, of vulcanized rubber having cut-away portions 5 and perforated as at 7. As shown, a metal flat-foot insert 11 has a leather cover 12, the heel counter 2 having a continuous under-piece or two flaps secured beneath the plate 11. As applied to heel pads the pad 4, Fig. 4, is of wedge shape and is provided with radial grooves 8 and a central recess in its upper face. The pad is placed beneath a perforated halfinsole carrying the counter 2 and positioned by a leather flap lying beneath the pad and secured to the half-insole at its forward end. The counter 2 is inwardly bent at its front rounded corners and is formed with pressed-in portions 6 which serve to grip the foot above the heel and which may be sealed with sheet rubber on their outer sides.
