Abstract
381,288. Hinges. BLANCHARD, R. L., 716, Whitlock Avenue, Bronx, New York, U.S.A. Aug. 21, 1931, No. 23609. [Class 65 (ii ). ] The leaves C of a revolving door of the kind which collapse under abnormal pressure so as to leave a clear gangway are connected to discs 10 on a central pivot A by pins 21, 22 and arcuate slots in the discs. Each leaf is retained in normal position by a spring pressed ball 26 and when necessary is rotated on the discs by pivoting first about the pivot 21 till one of the pins 22 reaches the end 17 of a slot H and becomes the pivot for the remainder of the folding of the leaf. The pins 22 are flattened to fit the arcuate slot H for the first rotation and rotate in an enlargement 17 of the slot. The pins 21, 22 are carried on flanged brackets secured in slots in the door leaves and embracing the discs, the retaining balls 26 being mounted in central parts 25 and adapted to engage the discs above the openings leading from the slots H.
