Abstract
380,992. Rotary pumps. MASCHINEN FABRIK ING. H., 40, Sandleitengasse, Vienna. Nov. 17, 1931, No. 31886. Convention date, Dec. 5, 1930. [Class 110 (i).] Apparatus of the centrifugal fan type for exchanging heat between a liquid and a gas comprises a casing 8 having inlet and outlet ports 6, 7 respectively for hot gas and interconnected pipes 2 through which the liquid to be heated flows, the pipes being arranged in radial rows and mounted bv flexible arms 3, 4 upon a rotary shaft having liquid inlet and outlet passages 10, 11. In order to withstand the centrifugal force and to facilitate the transfer of heat, each pair of adjacent rows of pipes are provided with fins consisting of rings of trapezoidalshaped plates 1 arranged in staggered relation to one another longitudinally of the apparatus. The outer ends of the flexible arms are flared to connect several adjacent rows of pipes.
