[Class 100 (ii).] A method of frosting lamp bulbs and other glass articles comprises rinsing the freshlyfrosted articles with a fortifying solution, adding the rinsings to the fortifying solution with sufficient water to maintain the proper strength of the solution, rinsing the articles with water, again spraying them with the fortifying solution, and finally washing them with water. The bulbs are first treated with a frosting solution by an apparatus 10, Fig. 1, of usual form, after which they are transferred to an apparatus 19, comprising a tub 20, Fig. 3, containing a fortifying solution. This is forced by air pressure from a pipe 14 through nozzles 22 into the bulbs A, washing out the residue of frosting solution. The surplus solution passes through a pipe 23 to a tank 24 in which suspended solids settle. To maintain the strength of the fortifying solution uniform, a suitable amount of water is supplied to the tub 20 from a pipe 35. The bulbs are transferred to a water rinsing unit 25 and thence to a fortifying unit 28 similar in construction to the apparatus 19 but receiving a supply of solution from the tank 24 by a pipe 30 and connected by a pipe 29 to the tub 20 to maintain the supply of solution therein. The bulbs are finally washed.
