Abstract

316,031. Thomson, D., and Usher, C. A. Aug. 14, 1928. Drinking - vessels, washing, - Means for washing drinking- glasses comprise an open - mouthed chamber 1 of rustproof material with an open top and a base composed of sectors or arms 3 radiating from a centrally disposed spraying nozzle 5 and presenting openings 2, Fig. 2, for conveying away waste liquid. Each arm 3 carries a liquid passage 4 fed from an inlet 9 which also feeds passages 6 leading to jets in the walls of the chamber 1. The mouth of the cylinder 1 has a rubber guard ring 11 which acts to prevent breakage and also as an anti-splash. A second rubber guard 13 serves to prevent the rims of glasses being damaged. In use, the device provided with rubber feet 14 is placed in a sink, and a rubber tube conveying water is attached to the nozzle 9. A glass 15 is then placed by hand in the cylinder 1 and quickly withdrawn washed inside and out. The nozzle 9 may be T-shaped to allow water and a disinfectant together from different sources to be sprayed on the glasses.
