Abstract
380,435. Cleaning condenser &c. tubes. BRENDLIN, A., 15, Beamtenkolonie, Knapsack, near Cologne, Germany. May 4, 1931, No. 13167. Convention date, Aug. 18, 1930. Addition to 377,723. [Class 99 (ii).] In apparatus for cleaning condenser &c. tubes x of the kind described in the parent Specification, the flexible cord &c. b connects the cleaning device a to a drum l<1> which is coupled to a blade wheel r and which may be connected by a ratchet l to a worm wheel g<1> engaging a worm g integral with an adjustable brake h. The forward movement of the device a, under the action of the cleaning fluid which is supplied from the main A through a tube o and is controlled by a manually operated valve c<1>, is restrained by the brake h, and the return of the device is effected by fluid from the main A acting upon the blade wheel r through a nozzle g<1> controlled by a spring-loaded valve q<111>, the ratchet l being inoperative during this movement and the valve c<1> previously closed. The opening and closing of the valves c<1>, q<111> is controlled by a valve f actuated by stops b<1>, b<11> on the cord b.
