Abstract

241,424. Cooper, C. J. Jan. 7, 1925. Piston valves; indicating amount of opening.- A cock for use with oil, paint, &c. comprises a tube b, a spring-controlled hollow piston valve c, and a handle g which encircles the tube b and is connected by a central rod to the inner end of the valve c. The spring d is enclosed, as shown. When drawn out the valve c uncovers an elongated or lozenge-shaped discharge opening h on the under side of the tube b. The amount of opening is indicated, by means of a fixed pin k and markings l on a slotted extension g<2> of the handle.
