Abstract
380,430. Photographic exposuretimer ; photometers. DREM PRODUCTS CORPORATION, 152, West 42nd Street, Manhattan, New York, U.S.A. April 8, 1931, No. 10339. Convention date, April 9, 1930. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (i).] A device for estimating the exposure time in photographic printing comprises two adjacent comparison fields, one translucent the other opaque. In the construction described the comparison fields 2<1>, 2<11>, Fig. 1a, form the two halves of a disc 2, Fig. 1, in the top of a box 1. The translucent field 2<11> is illuminated by a lamp 5 and the illumination can be varied, as by means of a rheostat 12, or by adjusting the distance of the lamp. The opaque field 2<1> is covered with white paper and is illuminated by the printing lamp or the projected negative. The illumination of the translucent comparison field is adjusted until both fields are equally illuminated, the adjusting scales providing the necessary exposure data. To facilitate comparison, an outer colour filter 3 may be fitted, and also an internal diffusing screen 4. Also (1) the lamp 5 may be in series or in parallel with the rheostat 12 ; (2) the printing lamp plug 8, Fig, 2, and the connecting plug 9 for the lamp 5 may be fed in parallel from the main plug 7 ; and (3) the plug 9 and comparison lamp 5 circuit may include a resistance 10 which may be the dark room lamp.
